Background:

INSPIRATION:
My biggest inspiration for art and multimedia came from my dad, as I watched and observed him painting and illustrating while growing up. The more I watched him work, the more I got inspired to get into art as I tried to create something for myself which I enjoyed. I get regular comments and criticism on my artwork and design work from my dad, and my mum’s constant reminders for me to get tasks done, encourage me to find ways to get better each time.   Some of my further inspirations are from artworks that I viewed online, which allowed me to see different styles of artwork and potentially help me to create my own style.

EDUCATION:
I did my pre-school to High School (Year 7) in PNG, mostly at Institute of Christian Academy (ICA) in Port Moresby (Pre-school to Grade 6) and did my Grade 7 at Gain Primary School, in Morobe Province. I continued year 8 (2018) to year 11 (2021)  at Glenroy College in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I am hoping to continue my year 11 here in PNG awaiting decisions from the Department of Education on my application.

EXPERIENCE:
I started drawing as young as 5 years old, but I wasn’t serious until the age of 15, when I was awarded the Academic Achievement in Visual Arts for year 8 by my school – Glenroy College in Melbourne. From then on, I continued my passion for drawing and ventured into computer generated illustrations, especially using my drawing monitors which my dad bought.

Back then, while I was 7 years old, my dad introduced me to basic drawing programes like Microsoft Paint. I didn’t spend much time on it, probably because it was difficult to use a computer mouse to draw. However, when I got my drawing tablet monitor in 2020 and was tasked by my dad to work on a project for one of our clients, I began to take on some of the loads that my dad used to do and then started drawing straight into Adobe Photoshop. Following this, I was tasked to work on some project for the University of PNG Bookshop, The Austrian South Pacific Society (Netherlands), doing graphics for the Creative Hub PNG platform and the PNG Tumbuna Visual Arts Association, among many others. I have been doing projects with my dad for a while now, which has given me additional experience to improve my illustrations and editing skills. In addition, some of my experiences came from my school through the interactions and lessons I learned in class, which allowed me to practice different approaches to doing art, such as creating pattern designs, grid painting, and collage art. Other experiences came from visiting places such as art galleries with family and friends whilst in Australia.
